PrishtinaAirporttoCityCenter:ACompleteTransferGuide

Everything you need to know about getting from Prishtina International Airport (PRN) to the city center, including taxis, buses, and private transfers.

Arrival at Prishtina International Airport in Kosovo

Prishtina International Airport (PRN), officially named after Adem Jashari, is Kosovo's main gateway. It sits about 18 kilometers southwest of the city center, a ride of around 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic. Here is everything you need to know to get into town smoothly.

Option 1: Airport taxi

Taxis are the most common way to get from PRN to central Prishtina. Licensed taxis queue at the arrivals exit and offer fixed or metered fares into the city.

Expect to pay roughly 25 to 35 euros for a ride to the city center, depending on your hotel location and the time of day. Ask the driver to confirm the fare before you set off.

Option 2: Private transfer

For late arrivals, groups, or if you just want a stress-free start to your trip, a pre-booked private transfer is a great option. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign, helps with bags, and takes you straight to your hotel.

Guests at ZOE Hotel can request a private transfer when they book. Just share your flight details and we will coordinate the pickup.

Option 3: Rental car

All major international rental companies operate at PRN. If you plan to explore Kosovo beyond Prishtina, a rental car gives you flexibility for places like Prizren, Peja, and the mountains.

Keep in mind that parking in central Prishtina is limited. If you are mostly staying in the city, a taxi or transfer plus occasional Bolt rides is often easier than driving.

Option 4: Public transport

A public bus operates between the airport and the central bus station in Prishtina. It is cheap, but schedules are limited and luggage space is tight. Most travelers skip it in favor of a taxi or transfer, especially after a long flight.

Quick travel tips

  • Keep small euro bills handy for taxi tips and small purchases
  • ATMs are available at the airport, but try to avoid DCC (dynamic currency conversion) at the machine
  • SIM cards and eSIMs from local providers are affordable and work well
  • Save your hotel address in both English and Albanian for drivers
  • Bolt and local ride-hailing apps work in Prishtina and are often cheaper than street taxis for inner city rides
